ABOUT ALICE WHITE
The author known as Alice White, (or the dyslexic writer who can spell) has a busy psychotherapy practice run from her home in North Lincolnshire. Her passion for nature awakened from her time on a narrowboat remains. She shares her small cottage and large garden with a boisterous puppy, a white cat and much wildlife.
Following the enthusiastic reception of 'Reflections From A Narrowboat' - her first book - and: 'The Courage Of A Ukrainian Family - Reflections From An English Host', Alice was delighted to launch her third memoir: 'The Evening girls - Reflections of a District Nurse in the 1970's.'

An easy and enjoyable read.
A touching insight into a fragment of someone's life. It is reassuring to realise that others make similar mistakes and it takes these mistakes to grow as a person.

Alice touched me with her pathos and wit, and her ability to look at herself in an honest and accepting way. If you want a companion on your journey, one who will help you to laugh and cry without being too precious about it all, then take her with you. A lovely first book.

A huge test of personal and cultural differences - What a 'laid bare' insight into the difficulties and humour in hosting a Ukrainian mother, daughter & their beloved pet.

The author's honesty about the challenges of inter-cultural relations are refreshing and enlightening, and the sometimes wry, humorous comments made me smile and added to my enjoyment of the book.
